Mikheil Kavelashvili meets with Armenian President

Mikheil Kavelashvili is on an official visit to the Republic of Armenia. As part of his visit to Yerevan, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturian hosted Mikheil Kavelashvili at the Presidential Palace.

“During the face-to-face meeting, the leaders of the two countries spoke about the prospects for deepening the strong friendly relations and partnership between Georgia and Armenia. The sides also discussed issues of expanding bilateral cooperation in various directions.

The President of Georgia thanked his Armenian counterpart for his support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

At the meeting, the presidents of the two countries discussed the current political developments in Georgia and Armenia and spoke about the importance of regional peace and stability.

According to Mikheil Kavelashvili, the recent trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in Tbilisi once again clearly confirms Georgia’s readiness to promote dialogue, peace and stability in the South Caucasus region. The President expressed hope that in the future, work in this format between the three countries will continue.

After the meeting, the presidents made joint statements to the media," the report says.
