Attempts by foreign special services to establish contact with Georgian citizens, to question them on topics of interest to them, and to recruit them were identified - presumably, during such contacts, representatives of special services also carried out certain technical measures to obtain the information they desired, - reads the 2024 report of the State Security Service.

According to the report, in 2024, foreign special services in Georgia actively tried to establish ties with various political forces and their leaders in order to pursue the interests of their own countries.

In addition, as stated in the report, "connections of individual media representatives with officials of foreign countries and, presumably, representatives of special services, from whom they received funding and instructions, as well as provided information on issues of interest, were noticed."

"During the reporting period, attempts were revealed by special services of foreign countries to exploit persons visiting Georgia. Facts of suspicious activities by citizens of foreign countries on the territory of Georgia were noticed, such as establishing GPS coordinates, photo and video recordings with drones. Measures provided for by law were taken against some of the persons in the above category, including the activation of a border control mechanism," reads the report.
