Georgian Dream’s Foreign Minister Bochorishvili is officially abolishing the Directorate General for European Integration and dismissing 250 patriotic Georgians who have not betrayed their homeland, said Grigol Gegelia, a member of the Lelo-Strong Georgia coalition.
According to him, by this action, Georgian Dream has declared that “European integration is no longer a priority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and, accordingly, no longer deserves a directorate-level structural unit in the ministry.”
“I would like to inform the public of the extraordinary information that became known to us last night. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgian Dream Botchorishvili is officially abolishing the Directorate General for European Integration and dismissing hundreds of employees! With this action, the evil regime has already formally and declaratively stated that European integration is no longer a priority of this Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and accordingly, it no longer deserves a structural unit at the level of the directorate in the Ministry.
This fact is an official and declarative stop of the European path. No preparations and no entry anywhere in 2030, all of this is one big lie. When the Dream came to power, the direction of European integration was supervised and managed by the Office of the State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration - the Dream first abolished this higher structure and created the Directorate General for European Integration within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and now this is also being abolished, which is another major failure of Georgian diplomacy and an attempt to eliminate a once-important ministry!
Along with the abolition of the European Directorate, Georgian Dream, through its self-proclaimed minister, is starting a political purge in the ministry! 250 people are being dismissed from the ministry. According to the information we have, further purges
and a 30-40% reduction are being planned in the ministry’s staff. This is the first time in 12 years that a reorganization of this scale is being carried out in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The so-called reorganization initiated by the minister is, in fact, political repression.
Hundreds of employees who signed a petition in which these conscientious people defended their homeland, national interests, national security and the foreign policy historically declared by the people of Georgia are being dismissed from the ministry - precisely in response to the signatures, the vassal of the evil regime, Botchorishvili, declared Bartholomew’s Night.
This is the most shameful Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the history of Georgia, which openly serves the interests of the enemy, during which Georgia lost the most strategic partnership, the most funding, the most allies, and all the chances and opportunities that our state and its citizens have historically had.
Along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in various agencies, including the Parliament, the Ministry of Defense and others, a total of more than 900 conscientious, patriotic civil servants have already been dismissed.
I want every person who is affected by the repression of the Russian regime today to know that this regime will soon be defeated, and our country will always need their knowledge, competence and patriotic attitude. All illegally dismissed civil servants will immediately return to their workplaces!” - stated Grigol Gegelia.
