Dimitri Gvritishvili: Sanctions are unfair and do not meet any European or American standards - accusing someone of corruption without evidence is the most serious accusation

Regarding the sanctions, we have repeatedly stated that they are unfair and do not meet any European or American standards. Accusing someone of corruption without evidence is the most serious accusation, - said judge and member of the High Council of Justice, Dimitri Gvritishvili.

According to him, the decision [on sanctions] is political and is made based on a certain agenda.

"Sanctions are groundless. This is a political decision driven by a certain agenda. Unfortunately, for certain circles, be it in Brussels, the European Union or our strategic partner countries, there are certain forces for whom the foreign policy of our country may be unacceptable. Therefore, imposing sanctions on judges and especially their families is absolutely unjustified and unfair.

Regarding sanctions, we have repeatedly stated that they are unfair and do not meet any European or American standards. Accusing someone of corruption without evidence is the gravest accusation," Gvritishvili said.
