Kakha Kaladze: I see that the “deap state”, which has quite deep roots, is not defeated

I see that the “deap state”, which has quite deep roots, is not defeated - for years hundreds of millions were spent on creating agents’ network that is represented in the country today in the form of radicals, - the Secretary General of Georgian Dream, Kakha Kaladze, told journalists when talking about relations between the United States and Georgia.

According to him, if Donald Trump is unable to defeat the “deap state”, the Georgian Dream will continue to protect the interests of the country.

“I see that the “deap state”, which has quite deep roots, is not defeated. The “deap state” has quite deep roots not only in Georgia. For years hundreds of millions were spent on creating the agents’ network that is represented in the country today in the form of radicals. Why did they need this? Do not think that they have this attitude only towards Georgia. Everywhere they have an interest, they work with the same methods - they create an agents’ network in order to organize coups d'état, revolutions when they need it, which they have attempted many times in Georgia. All this was financed by NED, USAID, and various foundations. The “deap state” has not yet been defeated. We are watching our country and protecting its interests. If he [Donald Trump] succeeds and defeats the “deap state”, we, of course, will only welcome it. If he cannot resolve this, we will continue to protect the interests of our country and no matter how big the country is, we will not give anyone the opportunity to trample on the interests of Georgia and use it, as, for example, Ukraine was used to pursue the interests of someone else," Kaladze said.

According to Kaladze, the Georgian Dream welcomes the normalization of relations with America, the resetting of existing relations, and the starting of a new page.

"The current situation is unacceptable for us and I am sure for them as well. All this was limited to the fact that the previous administration was telling us black and white. We want all this to end and the relationship to be normal, friendly, partnership and mutual. There should not be such an attitude that America is a big country and should look down on a small country," Kaladze said.
