Mamuka Khazaradze: "The MEGOBARI Act" is the Georgian people’s response to all the crimes committed by ‘Russian Dream’ over the past 13 years – it is already clear that accountability will follow for all these crimes, and the MEGOBARI Act is precisely the precondition for that

“The MEGOBARI Act is, in reality, the Georgian people’s response to all the political crimes, violence, and repression committed by ‘Russian Dream’ in Georgia over the past 13 years!” – writes Lelo – For a Strong Georgia leader Mamuka Khazaradze on social media.

According to him, “Georgian Dream” has truly become a “Georgian nightmare.”

"The MEGOBARI Act is, in fact, the Georgian people’s response to all the political crimes, violence, and repression that ‘Russian Dream’ has committed in Georgia over the past 13 years!

Yes, ‘Georgian Dream’ has truly become a ‘Georgian nightmare’—when it trampled on the dignity of the judiciary; destroyed institutions; physically assaulted the people; went against civil society; violated the Constitution and abandoned the European path; and deprived us of the economic stability and security guarantees that the Anaklia Port project would have provided.

It is now clear that accountability will be imposed for all these crimes, and the MEGOBARI Act is the very precondition for that!

The message is clear—true friends stand with those who fight for freedom and dignity, not with those who cling to power through fear and repression,” Khazaradze writes.

For context, the U.S. House of Representatives has supported the “MEGOBAR Act.” The bill, officially titled the Mobilizing and Enhancing Georgia’s Options for Building Accountability, Resilience, and Independence Act (MEGOBARI), was supported by 349 members of Congress, while 42 voted against it. The bill now awaits approval from the U.S. Senate.
