MEGOBARI Act officially transferred to Senate

After approval by the US House of Representatives, the MEGOBARI Act has been officially transferred to the Senate. The corresponding changes were included in the Senate’s schedule.

In particular, after the approval of the MEGOBARI Act on May 6 in the lower house of the US Congress - the House of Representatives - the bill was transferred to the upper house of Congress - the Senate.

The bill was added to the Senate’s official calendar on May 6 under the title - “An Act To counter the influence of the Chinese Communist Party, the Iranian Regime, and the Russian Federation in the nation of Georgia”.

For information, the Senate calendar also includes the “Mobilizing and Enhancing Georgia’s Options for Building Accountability, Resilience, and Independence Act” (also known as the “MEGOBARI Act”), introduced by Senator Jeanne Shaheen and others, which was supported by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on April 27.
