The Special Investigation Service, in order to protect the privacy of minors and raise awareness among school students about online threats and cases of pedophilia, has launched the second phase of informational meetings in schools. This information was released by the Special Investigation Service.
According to the agency, its employees are actively holding informational meetings with school students, teachers, parents, and school resource officers in the capital and regions, aiming to take preventive steps against crimes spread in the online space.
“As part of the awareness campaign, meetings have already been held in public schools across Georgia — in Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Borjomi, Rustavi, Gurjaani, Gori, Batumi, and Zugdidi.
In close coordination with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, the Special Investigation Service conducted the first phase of the campaign in 123 schools, reaching up to 2,500 students.
The purpose of these meetings is to prevent violations of personal privacy among students, protect them from crime, and provide timely warnings. Topics discussed include the nature of privacy violations, crimes occurring in the online space and their risks, as well as response and protection mechanisms.
The Special Investigation Service will continue holding informational meetings with students in schools across all regions. We urge the public to immediately contact the agency in cases of violations of minors’ privacy.
