The United States is a friend of Georgia and its people, not a friend of any particular party. The U.S. will not leave or abandon Georgia — analyst Zurab Batiashvili stated this after a meeting held within the framework of the "Resistance Platform."
According to him, the meeting reviewed the situation in and around Georgia, particularly the "MEGOBARI Act" and its significance.
"We discussed the situation in Georgia and the surrounding region, as well as recent developments, including the 'MEGOBARI Act,' which is one of the most important events in Georgia's recent history.
The United States is a friend of Georgia and its people, not of any political party. The U.S. will not leave Georgia alone to face Russia. This act is a sign of that, and the fact that it is being reviewed in the Senate under an expedited procedure confirms it. The act also implies that there will be concrete developments. I believe the number of individuals on the list will increase soon. If currently the list includes top officials, it may later include their deputies and lower-ranking officials as well," said Zurab Batiashvili.
