There was commotion at the Batumi City Court, where the trial of Mzia Amaghlobeli, founder of Netgazeti and Batumelebi, is underway.

Netgazeti’s editor-in-chief, Nestan Tskhvedadze, called Judge Nino Sakhelashvili a “servant of Russia” and referred to Irakli Dgebuadze — head of the Batumi Division of the Adjara Police Department, who was testifying at the hearing — as a “perpetrator.”

The judge requested that Tskhvedadze hand over her ID to court bailiffs, which the journalist refused to do. Judge Nino Sakhelashvili then ordered Nestan Tskhvedadze to be removed from the courtroom.

“Ms. Nestan, due to your repeated demonstrative statements, despite numerous warnings, you disrupted order in the courtroom, interfered with the hearing of the case, and disobeyed multiple instructions to stop and remain silent.

The court, acting in accordance with Article 45 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Georgia, has determined that attendee Nestan Tskhvedadze be removed from the courtroom for violating order and refusing to comply with the chair’s instructions,” the judge told her.

Media expert Zviad Koridze was also removed from the hearing.
