This is due to the actions taken by the Georgian authorities over the past year, the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, told journalists, explaining why the Georgian Foreign Minister was not invited to the informal meeting of ministers of candidate countries in Warsaw.
According to Herczynski, this is an extremely regrettable event, although the reason for this is the steps taken by the Georgian authorities.
“I am sorry, but unfortunately, this is the current reality that more and more events are taking place, important events, including those related to the enlargement of the European Union, where Georgia is not represented. This is due to the actions taken by the Georgian authorities over the past year. This is extremely regrettable, but unfortunately, this is the reality of today's relations with Georgia,” the EU Ambassador said.
For information, an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers was held in Warsaw, to which the foreign ministers of candidate countries were invited. According to reports, Georgia was not invited to the meeting.
