On May 17, on the occasion of the Day of the Sanctity of the Family and Respect for Parents, a service will be held at the St. George Cathedral in Kashueti and a solemn procession will be organized towards the Trinity Cathedral.
The heads of the churches were given the blessing to join the procession with the parishioners.
“As you know, with the blessing of His Holiness Ilia II, the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, May 17 was declared the Day of Family Sanctity and Respect for Parents in 2014.
On May 17 of this year, at 1:00 p.m., the clergy and parishioners of the Mtskheta-Tbilisi Diocese (also from Rustavi) will gather at the St. George Cathedral in Kashueti and a solemn procession will begin towards the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.
The priests of the churches were given a blessing to join the prayer procession with the parishioners,” reads the information released by the Patriarchate’s press service.
