Zurab Tsetskhladze: The government should know that no one will allow a country that has come this close to the door to Europe to be taken to the door of Russia, the Georgian nation will not allow this, no matter how punitive laws are passed and repressions are carried out

"They should stop adopting inadequate, stupid laws, otherwise it is not excluded that they will get a revolution, I am not afraid to say this," Zurab Tsetskhladze, the father of Zviad Tsetskhladze, who was detained during the protests, said during a speech in Europe Square.

As Zurab Tsetskhladze noted, if the authorities start detaining people again, they will "get uncontrolled processes."

"Today, before you, before these tens of thousands of people, I am appearing solely on my own responsibility and in my name to send several messages to the fake, illegitimate government that came to power through rigged elections. First, I must remind you that Europe is, first of all, security from Russia for us, second, Europe is light, quality education, quality healthcare, comfort, development. Russia is a swamp, darkness, therefore, the Georgian nation has already made a choice and we, knocking on the door of Europe, are a candidate country for Europe. The government should know that no one will allow a country that has come this far to be cut off from the door to Europe and taken to the door of Russia, the Georgian nation will not allow this, no matter how punitive laws are passed, no matter how much repression is carried out, because our country has tens of thousands of people who were born and raised in independent Georgia. Those of us who lived in the Soviet Union know that this is a boundless rotten swamp, where our country will never return. Thank you very much for your support, for what you are doing for our prisoners, thank you very much for your solidarity.

I would like to advise this government not to dare and not to let a single Russian soldier set foot in Georgia, otherwise they will get unruly processes. Let them stop adopting inadequate, stupid laws, otherwise it is not excluded that they will get a revolution, I am not afraid to say this word. If the foolish decisions are not stopped, nothing is excluded from the illegitimate, self-proclaimed government. We will continue our march towards Europe," Zurab Tsetskhladze said.
