Irakli Mezurnishvili: Since 2022, Georgia has acted perfectly, maintaining stability and peace, with tourism indicators increasing – 2024 was a clear example of how successful our economic team's correct policy was

I believe that since 2022, Georgia has acted perfectly — it has maintained stability in our country, preserved peace, and tourism indicators have increased, which had drastically declined after COVID, which was logical, since the borders were closed, and so on — this was stated by the First Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Sectoral Economy and Economic Policy, Irakli Mezurnishvili.

As he noted, Georgia experienced double-digit economic growth over the past two years, and 2024 clearly confirmed how successful the economic team’s chosen policy has been.

“We achieved double-digit economic growth since 2022. In the first year, experts claimed this growth was due to the economy restarting after COVID and a full recession. Now, of course, that can no longer be used as an excuse. The year 2024 was a clear example of how successful our economic team’s correct policy was. Moreover, the regional situation has created additional opportunities, which we are making very good use of,” said Irakli Mezurnishvili on Post TV.
