Irakli Favlenishvili: The organization “Georgian Dream” pushes the narrative that the West is the main destabilizer — They think there will be no isolation from the West, but the consequences will be regrettable

“The organization [‘Georgian Dream’], which is hostile to the West, is pushing the narrative that the West is the main destabilizing force — these people believe that despite making such statements, they will still maintain close ties with the West and won’t be isolated from it,” said Irakli Favlenishvili, a member of “Unity – United National Movement,” commenting on the sanctions imposed on members of “Georgian Dream.”

According to him, all of this will lead to unfortunate consequences, with the government becoming isolated and sanctioned, which may eventually result in the dismantling of the current system.

“The organization [‘Georgian Dream’], which is antagonistic toward the West, promotes a narrative that the West is the main instigator of unrest, revolutions, and conflicts across the world. These people think that even in the context of such statements, they will maintain close ties with the West and avoid isolation.

The outcome will be regrettable, because the de facto government is now isolated and sanctioned, and the ultimate result of all this could be the dismantling of the system — with the main driving force behind it, of course, being the struggle of the Georgian people and international pressure,” said Irakli Favlenishvili.
