Regarding the murder that took place at "Rati's Bar" in Tbilisi, the Prosecutor's Office has charged two individuals

The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has charged one person with intentional murder and another with failure to report a crime in connection with the murder that occurred at "Rati's Bar" in Tbilisi. The General Prosecutor’s Office has released information regarding the case.

According to the agency, the accused inflicted injuries on the victim with a cold weapon in various parts of the body.

“The investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs established that on May 11, at approximately 05:30, at ‘Rati's Bar’ on Baratashvili Street in Tbilisi, the accused stabbed the victim with a knife in different parts of the body. The victim died at the scene due to the injuries sustained.

The second accused, who was present at the scene during the commission of the crime and knew that a particularly serious offense — intentional murder — had been committed, did not report it to law enforcement authorities.

Law enforcement officers arrested the suspects on the same day. One individual has been charged under Article 109, subparagraph “v” of the Criminal Code of Georgia (intentional murder committed with hooligan motives), which carries a sentence of 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment. The second individual has been charged under Article 376, part two (failure to report a crime), which carries a sentence of 3 to 7 years of imprisonment.

The Prosecutor’s Office will file a motion within the legally established time frame to impose pre-trial detention as a measure of restraint,” the statement says.
