Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili will participate in the 134th session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in Luxembourg on May 13-14.
As stated in the information released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the participants of the ministerial will discuss the role of the Council of Europe in the new geopolitical context and the issues envisaged by the Reykjavik Declaration, including: human rights, environmental protection, education.
“Maka Botchorishvili will address the participants of the session and will also participate in a thematic discussion, at the invitation of the Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Vice-Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel, which will be dedicated to the initiative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe “Towards A New DemocraticPact for Europe,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
According to the ministry, bilateral meetings with counterparts are also scheduled within the framework of the ministerial.
The 134th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe is being held under the chairmanship of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Following the conclusion of the ministerial, Luxembourg will officially hand over the chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers to Malta, which will head the executive body of the Council of Europe for the next six months.
