"I don’t think the ‘MEGOBARI Act’ is the kind of issue over which Trump would find it worthwhile to oppose either the Senate or the House of Representatives. So, the likelihood that Trump will sign the document is very high," — said Zurab "Girchi" Japaridze, one of the leaders of the "Coalition for Change."
The opposition politician believes that the "MEGOBARI Act" will likely receive very strong bipartisan support in the Senate as well.
"Most likely, the ‘MEGOBARI Act’ will receive very strong bipartisan support in the Senate too — from both Democrats and Republicans. I don’t think it’s the kind of issue over which Trump would find it worthwhile to oppose either the Senate or the House. That’s why the likelihood of Trump signing it is very high — which would be a precedent. The new administration will express its position regarding Georgia. Expressing a position means that the document will define what problems exist in the country, what U.S. policy should be, and who should be sanctioned," Japaridze stated.
