Ukraine is suffering from brutal, unprovoked, and unjustified aggression and is defending itself. Georgia, of course, has been a target of Russian aggression since 2008.
Twenty percent of Georgia’s territory is still occupied by Russia, — said the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Paweł Herczyński, prior to the start of the event organized by the Polish Embassy, titled “The Russian Threat and Its Perception: Based on Polish, Ukrainian, and Georgian Experiences.”
According to the ambassador, Russia cannot be trusted, and that is why European countries must work together to preserve the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of all nations.
“We, as the European Union and our member states, are targets of Russia. What we have learned is that we cannot trust Russia — that Russia pursues an imperialist agenda directed against its neighbors. Russia’s harmful actions — first and foremost, its brutal, unprovoked, and unjustified aggression against Ukraine, as well as other hybrid activities against all its neighbors — require an appropriate response. That is why we must work together to be strong and to ensure the preservation of sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of all our countries,” said Paweł Herczyński.
