I have a preliminary court hearing on June 20 regarding Tsulukiani’s “commission” case — and I can tell you without any hesitation that I do not intend to pay any bail, Nika Gvaramia wrote on social media.
He also noted that he does not intend to criticize those who make a different decision.
“I have a preliminary court hearing on June 20 in the case of Tsulukiani’s ‘commission,’ but I have the latest deadline for paying bail (the court gave me 50 days, not 30).
I can tell you without any further questions that I do not intend to pay any bail. Nor do I intend to criticize those who make a different decision — it’s a personal matter,” Gvaramia wrote.
For reference: within the framework of the investigation launched over “failure to comply with the lawful request” of the Georgian Parliament’s temporary investigative commission, the court set bail in the amount of 30,000 GEL as a preventive measure against Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of “Coalition for Change.”
Gvaramia is charged under Article 349 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to “failure to comply with the request of the Parliament’s temporary investigative commission.” The offense is punishable by a fine or up to one year of imprisonment, with possible disqualification from holding office or engaging in professional activity for up to three years.
