"Lelo – Strong Georgia" will make a statement regarding participation in the local self-government elections when it deems it necessary and the time is right — this is how Lana Galdava, a member of "Lelo – Strong Georgia," responds to Nika Melia, one of the leaders of the "Coalition for Change."

Galdava does not give a specific answer as to whether their party will participate in the local self-government elections.

"At this stage, we believe there are two main issues — the release of political prisoners and the scheduling of repeat elections. As for representatives of other parties raising this issue in a categorical tone, we will say that Lelo – Strong Georgia has always supported unity, and bringing up such topics in this tone before May 26 is an attempt to inspire conflict, which is damaging to the opposition spectrum," Galdava stated.

For context, Nika Melia, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, called on opposition parties to give a clear answer as to whether they are participating in the local self-government elections.

According to Melia, "The time of political ambiguity and vagueness is over, and now is the time to answer every question — what are they doing? Are they entering a farce called local elections?"
