Head of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Razhden Kuprashvili, told journalists that the FARA law does not mention the imposition of any kind of restrictions. On the contrary, he said, the law will contribute to better transparency and presentation of projects carried out by donor organizations in Georgia.

“There is absolutely no mention of imposing any kind of restrictions in the FARA law. On the contrary, it will further improve the visibility and transparency of the projects implemented in our country with the support of donor organizations,” said Kuprashvili.

According to him, the FARA law ensures transparency and has nothing to do with limiting any kind of activity.

Kuprashvili also noted that the Bureau will hold working meetings with all interested parties regarding the law.

“The term ‘agent’ is clearly defined in the law. Tomorrow, we have some very important meetings, including with NGOs and all interested stakeholders. Due to the high level of interest surrounding this initiative, we had to extend the schedule of our working meetings by several days,” Kuprashvili added.
