Georgia has appointed new ambassadors to the Republic of Italy and Hungary. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tamar Liluashvili has been appointed as Ambassador to the Republic of Italy, and Nikoloz Laliashvili as Ambassador to Hungary.

"Tamar Liluashvili has been appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Italy, as well as the Permanent Representative of Georgia to the UN’s international organizations based in Rome (FAO, IFAD, WFP).

Until now, Tamar Liluashvili served as Georgia’s Ambassador to Hungary. Prior to that, she was the Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Bulgaria.

Liluashvili has extensive experience in the public sector, having served as the Executive Director of Georgia’s National Investment Agency (Invest in Georgia), and as Deputy Director of the RMJ Group.

Nikoloz Laliashvili has been appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Hungary. He previously held the same position in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Laliashvili has many years of experience in public service, including various positions at the Ministry of Defense of Georgia and the National Security Council. He has also served as a Member of the Parliament of Georgia.

Tamar Liluashvili and Nikoloz Laliashvili will officially assume their new roles starting July 1,” the Ministry’s statement reads.
