I express my full support to the German Ambassador, Peter Fischer. The attack against him in Batumi is a shameful, unacceptable and anti-Georgian act, - the leader of the Strategy Builder, Giorgi Vashadze, writes on social media.

According to him, this was not only a provocation, but also an attack against a friend of the Georgian people, encouraged and organized by the regime.

This was not a random incident, it is the result of years of hatred against the West, deliberate propaganda and an attempt to undermine the country’s European course.

It is shameful that the ambassador of a country that is the main supporter of Georgia’s accession to the European Union and in which thousands of Georgians live, sheltering families that the regime sacrificed to starvation in Georgia is being attacked.

Thank you to every citizen who did not follow this attack and stood by the ambassador. These people show the true Georgia – European, free and dignified.

According to media reports, Peter Fischer was verbally insulted in Batumi on May 18.

"The embassy confirms this incident and thanks those Georgians who happened to witness the incident and supported the ambassador in this situation as a guest of their city. After the Georgians standing around pointed out to Mr. Kochiashvili his unworthy behavior, he quickly left the scene. The police were not at the scene," the German embassy told Formula.
