Giorgi Sioridze: A political party should always be preparing for elections, no matter what is happening in the country — and that’s exactly what we’re doing — we are preparing

A political party should always be preparing for elections, no matter what is happening in the country. That’s what we’re doing — we are preparing, – said Giorgi Sioridze, one of the leaders of "Strong Georgia," on Palitra News’s program 360 Degrees.

According to Giorgi Sioridze, Lelo–Strong Georgia will act in accordance with the mandate given by the voters.

“Our position has been consistent and clear from the beginning. We are a political party that represents at least 200,000 voters — and this could not be falsified; it is a confirmed fact. We serve the Georgian public. A political party has a function defined by the Constitution — to participate in the formation of political will. There can be different forms for that. When the main agenda in the country was protest, Lelo was the first to take a stand. No party can say they’ve done more than Lelo...

A political party should always be preparing for elections, no matter what is happening in the country. That’s what we’re doing — we are preparing, we are training our people, because our main goal is to achieve new parliamentary elections. Naturally, that goes hand-in-hand with the release of prisoners of conscience. We must be ready for this, and this goal cannot be replaced with anything else.

We are saying this struggle will not stop, and we won’t stop either. But when the time comes, and our voters give us a mandate, when there is a proper way and a plan for the fight, we will act accordingly, because we are a responsible, solid opposition party,” said Giorgi Sioridze.
