We have never been opponents of the Georgian people. We are in favor of both Ossetians and Abkhazians living peacefully with Georgians, how they will understand this is their business, - this is how the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, addressed Nikolai Rogashchuk, who was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Georgia.
According to him, relations between Georgia and Belarus have improved.
"Our relations have improved. I am very glad that this happened. Georgians treat us very well. They highly value our people. And the attitude towards the country's leadership is more or less normal. Yes, they have been brainwashed into thinking that we are opponents, rivals, and almost enemies. We have never been opponents of the Georgian people. We are in favor of both Ossetians and Abkhazians living peacefully with Georgians. How they will understand this is their business. We do not interfere, we must do what is best for the people. This is our position," Lukashenko noted.
