According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of investigative actions, officers of the Adjara Police Department arrested R.D., born in 1984, on charges of attempted premeditated murder and illegal purchase, storage and possession of firearms.

According to the agency, the crime is punishable by up to 15 years of imprisonment.

"The investigation established that during a confrontation in Batumi, which began on the basis of a mutual dispute, the accused shot his acquaintance, G.B., born in 1977, with a firearm. The wounded man was taken to the hospital, where he died. The police arrested R.D. as the accused. Law enforcement officers seized the weapon used for the crime as evidence. The investigation into the fact is underway under Articles 19-108 and 236 of the Criminal Code," reads the information released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
