Georgia is celebrating Independence Day.

Georgia’s state independence was declared on May 26, 1918.

According to the Ministry of Defense, at 11:00 AM, recruits will take the military oath in a solemn ceremony and join the Defense Forces.

In addition to Freedom Square, recruits will also take their oath in five other historic locations across the country.

"On May 26, as is traditional, the public will have the opportunity to view military equipment, weapons, and gear in 21 cities and municipalities. Exhibitions will be held in Tbilisi, Gori, Akhaltsikhe, Mtskheta, Rustavi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, Poti, Khoni, Ambrolauri, Batumi, Telavi, Akhalkalaki, Marneuli, Senaki, Samtredia, Baghdati, Chkhorotsku, Abasha, and Martvili.

At the end of the oath-taking ceremony and festivities on Freedom Square, aircraft from the Air Defense and Aviation Command will fly over," - the information states.
