Pawel Herczynski: Happy Independence Day! Forward, Georgia, forward! - This day is a powerful reminder that independence and democracy should never be taken for granted

Pawel Herczynski, the Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia, congratulates Georgia on Independence Day.

On this occasion, the EU Ambassador addressed the citizens.

“Today I congratulate every Georgian citizen on Independence Day. You have every reason to be proud of preserving the legacy of the First Democratic Republic and for building an independent state over the past 34 years. During these years, the European Union has always stood by Georgia. We have provided vital assistance, supported democratic reforms, opened access to European markets, and enabled visa-free travel for Georgian citizens. At the same time, this day is a powerful reminder that independence and democracy should never be taken for granted. The European Union firmly remains committed to Georgia — in solidarity, partnership, and a shared belief in a European democratic future. We are proud to be friends of Georgia. Happy Independence Day! Forward, Georgia, forward!” said Pawel Herczynski in a video address.
