Congratulations to everyone on today’s occasion, and I wish for a peaceful, stable, and strong Georgia for all, said Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Bochorishvili.

According to the Minister, May 26 is the most important and emotional day in the modern history of our country.

“Today, we live in an independent Georgia, but the fight for independence and sovereignty is a daily task. It is our duty—each Georgian’s duty—to be able to protect the achievements of our country and ensure that we have peace and stability in our homeland, so that we can live in the kind of Georgia our ancestors dreamed of, that we dream of, and that we want for our children,” said Maka Bochorishvili.

As the head of the diplomatic mission noted, Georgia received many congratulations from its partners.

“We have received quite a few congratulations, and this process is ongoing. Today is our country’s Independence Day, and of course our partners and friends are congratulating us. We are grateful that they are sharing this day with us,” she noted.

Maka Bochorishvili also spoke about the events planned and already carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and emphasized the importance of appropriately commemorating Georgia’s Independence Day abroad. She expressed her gratitude to the Minister of Culture for their cooperation.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is hosting guests in Mtskheta today. Various types of entertainment events are organized, especially for children. Of course, we will also dedicate some time to our diaspora representatives. We will have diaspora representatives who will perform songs. Of course, it is very important for us that Georgia’s Independence Day is properly celebrated abroad. All of Georgia’s embassies and diplomats are celebrating this day, and many activities are planned, especially to highlight Georgian culture. I would like to thank the Ministry of Culture and the Minister of Culture for their cooperation. Many interesting events have been planned for this period. Our friends and partners will have the opportunity to experience Georgian culture in connection with this day,” said Maka Bochorishvili.
