An event dedicated to Georgia’s Independence Day is taking place at Freedom Square

An event dedicated to Georgia's Independence Day is taking place at Freedom Square.

Recruits of the national military service will take their military oath in a ceremonial setting and join the Defense Forces.

In addition to Freedom Square, recruits will also take the oath at five other historic sites across the country.

On May 26th, as per tradition, residents will have the opportunity to view military equipment, armaments, and gear in 21 cities and municipalities. Specifically, exhibitions will be held in Tbilisi, Gori, Akhaltsikhe, Mtskheta, Rustavi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, Poti, Khoni, Ambrolauri, Batumi, Telavi, Akhalkalaki, Marneuli, Senaki, Samtredia, Baghdati, Chkhorotsku, Abasha, and Martvili.

At the end of the oath-taking ceremony and celebration at Freedom Square, aircraft from the Air Defense and Aviation Command will fly over the city. Throughout the day, events will also be held at Orbeliani Square.
