The Georgian Dream is once again introducing amendments to the law on grants.
A draft law has been submitted to the Parliament for consideration, according to which grants implemented within the framework of the European Union's research and innovation program, Horizon Europe, or the European Union's Erasmus+ program will no longer be subject to the obligation to get consent from the government.
The initiators of the draft law are Georgian Dream MPs. The initiators have requested its accelerated consideration.
For information, the Georgian Dream has introduced amendments to the Law on Grants, according to which the issuance of a grant requires the consent of the government or an authorized person/body designated by the government. Acceptance of a grant issued without consent is prohibited.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau has been tasked with monitoring the issuance and receipt of unauthorized grants.
