Giorgi Bachiashvili's trial, which was scheduled to take place tomorrow, May 28, in the Mtkvari HPP case at the Tbilisi City Court, has been postponed.
The hearing will be held on May 29 at 2:00 PM, where Giorgi Bachiashvili will make a statement regarding his detention. The preventive measure of pre-trial detention, which was imposed on him in absentia, will also be reviewed at this hearing.

"On May 26, 2025, an anonymous notification was received by the State Security Service, which revealed that Giorgi Bachiashvili, a dual citizen of Georgia and the Russian Federation, wanted and convicted under a red circular, was moving near the so-called green border section between Tsetili Khidi and Sadakhlo.
As a result of the investigative and operational-search measures taken, the above-mentioned person was detained.
The Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service is conducting the investigation under Part 1 of Article 344 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to illegal border crossing and provides for imprisonment for a term of three to five years.
