Natia Turnava on the question about Chinese banks: There is a perspective for more investments from China, but it wouldn’t be appropriate to discuss the details while negotiations are ongoing

“The load of our Middle Corridor is increasing, as are trade, business relations, and investments both from the West and from various regions of Asia, including China,” said the President of the National Bank, Natia Turnava, in response to a journalist’s question regarding Chinese banks.

According to her, it wouldn’t be appropriate to discuss the details while negotiations are ongoing.

“The load of our Middle Corridor is increasing, as are trade, business relations, and investments both from the West and from various regions of Asia and China. The financial sector itself does not determine this – it follows the needs of the real economy and trade. Where trade grows, the financial sector also needs to become closer and develop cooperation. There is a perspective for more investments from China. It wouldn’t be appropriate to discuss the details while negotiations are ongoing,” Turnava noted.
