The party "For Georgia" has stated that the 12-day administrative detention of Tatia Apriamashvili and Lika Lortkipanidze over the alleged insult of the "Georgian Dream" MP Mariam Lashkhi is politically motivated.
As noted in the party’s statement, the incident sharply contrasts with cases where there has been no legal response to the violence of those who brutally beat up fallen and detained young people and journalists live on air.
"For Georgia" declares that "every single political prisoner will definitely be released" and "every single perpetrator and corrupt individual will be punished."
"The Murusidze court today imposed detention on two young 19-year-old girls for political reasons.
This is happening in a country where not a single masked thug has been punished – these thugs who brutally beat up fallen and detained young people and journalists live on air; in a country where corruption has become one of the main tools to maintain power; where people are starving and drugs are destroying families; and where, because of injustice, inequality, and hopelessness, our citizens are leaving the country en masse.
This is the so-called justice and peace promised by ‘Dream.’
Every single political prisoner will definitely be released, and every single perpetrator and corrupt official will be punished. No one will be able to hide from personal responsibility!" – the party’s statement reads.
