Let's take part in the local elections and we'll see who has a chance, who will win, - Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said, answering a question about the opposition's participation in the local elections.

According to Kaladze, a number of large-scale projects have been implemented in the capital in recent years.

“Let them participate in the local self-government elections and we will see who has a chance and who will win

I have said it many times and I will repeat it once again, of course, we have had successful people, successful projects have been implemented, but I do not remember projects of this scale that have been implemented in the capital since 2017. All this is the merit of the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia,” - said Kakha Kaladze.

As for the question regarding the attitude of the National Movement towards the local elections, the Tbilisi Mayor says that this issue is “not of interest” to him.

“The National Movement is a radical grouping. I do not want to enter into a polemic on the issue of their or any other political party’s participation or non-participation in the elections, this is not of my interest. We, Georgian Dream, have begun preparations for the elections. There are many challenges and problems in the capital and in the regions, and all this requires a worthy response, a presentation of specific projects, what will be done in the coming years and what will change for the population,” said Kakha Kaladze.

The mayor of the capital also spoke about the current situation among the opposition parties.

“In general, the opposition is a kind of unity that has been created from the outside, I would call it that. There are various political groupings, although years ago, they were specific individuals who were in the National Movement and then separated from the National Movement, as if they had no connection with this party. This was an attempt to mislead the public, however, in order to analyze individually who is who and what their past is, we go back to the National Movement - that dirty and criminal organization that existed in the country until 2012,” said Kakha Kaladze.
