Rasa Juknevičienė: My appeal to journalists in the European Union and other countries is to mention Mzia Amaglobeli often

We need to show more solidarity with Mzia Amaglobeli, - said MEP Rasa Juknevičienė at the press conference held in the European Parliament with representatives of Georgian civil society.

"Many people are detained. I know that many journalists are listening to us, and my appeal to journalists in the European Union and other countries is to mention Mzia Amaglobeli often. A journalist who has become a symbol of people detained in Georgia. I think we need to show more solidarity with Mzia and her struggle," - said Rasa Juknevičienė.

Eka Gigauri, Executive Director of Transparency International Georgia, noted that more than 60 people are detained in Georgia.

"I would like to note that there are more than 60 political prisoners in prisons in Georgia. There is no evidence that these people have committed crimes. These people represent different groups of society. They are doctors, actors, civil activists and representatives of non-governmental organizations. They send us messages every day during court hearings and ask us to be strong. Thanks to their struggle, we are motivated and will do everything to ensure their release," Eka Gigauri noted.
