Insulting people in public should not be the rule and all this should be responded - let them express their protest within the limits of politeness! - Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, told journalists.

According to him, "the hate campaign, which is funded from abroad, has taken on a large-scale character, and therefore, the ruling party is appealing to the Ministry of Internal Affairs to respond appropriately to such cases."

“This is hate speech, unsubstantiated, defamatory and direct insulting approaches that are funded from abroad in Georgia. All of this must be responded. Insulting people in public should not be a rule or a legalized fact, therefore, it is necessary to respond to this.

The Georgian language is rich and provides full opportunity for people to express their protest politely. Therefore, those who wish to express their protest should behave within the limits of politeness,” said Matikashvili.

For information, MP Irakli Kirtskhalia stated that the Georgian Dream faction is initiating a legal dispute “in response to the externally funded hate speech campaign” against the MPs and will file a corresponding complaint with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to him, the complaint, which will be filed with the Ministry of Internal Affairs today, concerns "the most filthy expressions and insults posted on social networks, directed at political officials."
