Ambassadors do not usually retire early - this indicates that at least she herself does not agree with the policies pursued by the new US administration, - the First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, Gia Volski, said when speaking about the decision of the US Ambassador to Georgia, Robin Dunnigan, to resign.
According to him, it is a fact that the opposition to the policies pursued by the new US administration was also reflected in the ambassador's resignation.
"This departure was preceded by a certain violation of diplomatic ethics, not only towards the host country, but also towards the government that came to the helm of the United States. It is impossible, it is unacceptable that the ambassador does not publish that statement, letter, address and create the prerequisites for speculation. This indicates that at least she herself does not agree with the policy, the directions that the new administration of the United States of America is implementing. Her resignation, of course, is also related to this issue, since ambassadors, as a rule, do not retire early, although her statement towards her country was correct. However, the fact is that the opposition that exists in the United States of America to the policy that the new administration is implementing was actually reflected in the ambassador's resignation. In any case, there is no other analysis and basis for this resignation," Volski said.
For information, the US Ambassador to Georgia, Robin Dunnigan, announced that she has decided to retire. As Dunnigan notes, her government did not request her resignation.
