7 days of administrative detention was ordered by the court for activist Beka Papashvili, who is accused of insulting the chairwoman of the temporary investigative commission of the parliament, Tea Tsulukiani.

The decision was made by Tbilisi City Court Judge Lela Tsagareishvili. The judge’s decision was followed by a commotion in the courtroom.

Tina Bokuchava, the chairwoman of the United National Movement, who was present at the scene, said that Beka Papashvili was “sent to prison for calling Tsulukiani a traitor.”

According to her, the judge made a political decision.

"Beka Papashvili is an outstanding young man, a supporter of our party, and most importantly, an exceptionally principled, fighter and uncompromising young man who has been on Rustaveli Avenue since the first day of the protest. I am sure that the moment he is released from prison, he will be back on Rustaveli Avenue," said Tina Bokuchava.
