The Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia has nominated Giorgi Jincharadze, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, for the position of Chairman of the Government of Abkhazia. This information was confirmed to Interpressnews by Jemal Gamakharia, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Abkhazia.
As Gamakharia explained, they have already appealed to the Government of Georgia to obtain approval for Giorgi Jincharadze’s appointment.
“Giorgi Jincharadze, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, who previously worked within our structures for several years, has been nominated as a candidate for Chairman of the Government. This requires agreement with the Government of Georgia. We made the decision today and appealed to the Government of Georgia to give us their consent for his appointment. After receiving approval, Giorgi Jincharadze will present his program and the new composition of the government. Then the usual procedure will follow — discussions in committees and, finally, a plenary session where the government will be confirmed. The plenary session must be held within 10 days,” said Jemal Gamakharia.
As a reminder, the former Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Levan Mgaloblishvili, resigned on June 2.
