We sincerely hope that one day Georgia will become a member of the European Union, - EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczyński , told journalists, when answering a question about the ongoing conference organized by the UG Security, Policy and Nationalism Research Center - “Is Europe…? Long live the new Europe!”.

“I am grateful to the University of Georgia for organizing this very important annual conference dedicated to the future of Europe. I am very grateful that the University of Georgia managed to bring together leading researchers and scientists working on European issues. As you know, today's world is changing very quickly, it is becoming more unpredictable, so Europe also needs to change, Europe needs to adapt, and it is extremely important that here, in Tbilisi, there is a group of leading researchers and scientists who are thinking about what the future of Europe will be like. I am happy that I can also share my voice,” - said Pawel Herczyński.

He expressed his hope that Georgia will become part of the European family.

“As we all know, Georgia is a candidate country for EU membership and we sincerely hope that one day Georgia will become one of us, a member of the EU. Therefore, the voice of Georgian scientists and researchers will be extremely important in the ongoing debate on how Europe should adapt to the international context. I am looking forward to these two days of important exchange of views and am glad to be able to make my contribution,” said the EU Ambassador to Georgia.
