According to the Chairperson of the Unity National Movement, Tina Bokuchava, the summoning of former Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri to the Prosecutor General's Office is to make Giorgi Gakharia choose between prison or participation in local elections.

With this, Bokuchava is responding to the summoning of Vakhtang Gomelauri to the Prosecutor General's Office for questioning in connection with the Chorchana episode.

"The real reason for Gomelauri's summoning is to clearly present a choice to Gakharia - prison or participation in a special operation called local elections," Bokuchava stated.

For information, former Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri is being questioned at the Prosecutor General's Office. He was summoned in connection with the Chorchana episode. As of August 2019, he held the position of Head of the State Security Service.
