In Israel, 17 Georgian citizens who were being held in a deportation facility have departed for Georgia

Seventeen Georgian citizens who were being held in a deportation facility in Israel have departed for Georgia. This information was released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

According to the ministry, due to the current situation, the Embassy of Georgia in Israel continues to operate in emergency mode. A hotline has been activated for Georgian citizens, and so far, the embassy has provided consultations and necessary assistance to more than 500 Georgian nationals.

“The Georgian side, in close coordination with the relevant Israeli authorities, ensured the safe return of Georgian citizens to their homeland in the shortest possible time.

It is worth noting that individuals in Israel who wish to leave the country have the option to do so via land borders – either through the Israel-Jordan border crossing or the Israel-Egypt border crossing at TABA.

Citizens wishing to leave by land must carry a valid Georgian passport. In light of recent developments, around 1,000 Georgian citizens have already left Israel via land routes,” the statement reads.
