Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze detained

The leaders of "Lelo – Strong Georgia," Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, have been detained.

Law enforcement officers handcuffed Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze at the office of "Lelo – Strong Georgia."

During the detention, chants were heard: "Fire to the oligarchy," "Police everywhere, justice nowhere," and "Slaves."

Supporters of the leaders, politicians, and Georgia’s fifth President, Salome Zourabichvili, are gathered at the scene.

For context, Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of "Lelo – Strong Georgia," was found guilty by the court for failing to comply with the demands of a parliamentary temporary investigative commission. By the decision of Judge Zviad Sharadze, he was sentenced to 8 months in prison and banned from holding public office for 2 years. The accused did not attend the announcement of the verdict and did not exercise his right to make a final statement.

As for Badri Japaridze, the leader of "Lelo – Strong Georgia" was also found guilty by the court for failing to comply with the demands of a parliamentary temporary investigative commission. By the decision of Judge Zviad Sharadze, he was sentenced to 8 months in prison and banned from holding public office for 2 years.
