Thea Tsulukiani: Mamuka Khazaradze was an appendage of the “National Movement,” like an appendix in medical terms

We questioned numerous citizens [businessmen] who directly stated that Mamuka Khazaradze was an appendage of the “National Movement,” like an appendix in medical terms, stated Thea Tsulukiani, Chair of the Parliament’s Investigative Commission, during the Parliament’s plenary session.

Tsulukiani also spoke about Nika Gvaramia, a leader of the “Coalition for Change,” noting that Nika Gvaramia was both a scriptwriter and director alongside the Justice Minister.

“Nika Gvaramia was one of my predecessors, a Justice Minister of Georgia, who was also a predecessor of Giorgi Gabitashvili as Chief Prosecutor and General Prosecutor. At the same time, he was a scriptwriter and director. He crafted scenarios to label people opposing Saakashvili as traitors and Russian agents, after which investigations would be launched against them.

Gvaramia was one of the leaders and managers of the seized ‘Rustavi 2,’ and while in opposition, he stated that if he returned to power, the ground would burn under everyone’s feet, and then ‘we’ll see what we’ll see.’ It’s unimaginable that any objective observer would wonder, ‘My God, what questions could the commission possibly have for Gvaramia?’ The same applies to Giorgi Vashadze, who was Adeishvili’s deputy. He was one of the active figures between 2012 and 2025 in taking steps against Georgia’s foreign policy course, the state, and the Georgian people, both within the country and abroad.

As for Khazaradze, we questioned numerous citizens [businessmen] who directly stated that Mamuka Khazaradze was an appendage of the ‘National Movement,’ like an appendix in medical terms. He and Badri Japaridze, along with TBC Bank, were avatars of Kezerashvili and Saakashvili. Sometimes, as citizens reported, they would approach businesses and propose, ‘We’ll take a share, let’s expand the business together, and we’ll all live well.’ Later, it would turn out that Kezerashvili was behind it, who would then take the business away from the given businessman.

This could apply to the ‘Magnati’ case or the Lisi Lake case. When we delivered the notification to Mamuka Khazaradze, he was living at Lisi. That area previously had forest status but was removed from forestry resources so that Saakashvili and Kezerashvili could use the territory differently. Now he lives there. There are many questions, and I am confident that further discussion would reveal even more questions against them,” Tsulukiani stated.
