"Mamuka Khazaradze is exercising and doing well – we discussed issues related to continuing the legal battle," said Zviad Kordzadze, lawyer of Mamuka Khazaradze, one of the leaders of Lelo – For Strong Georgia, after visiting the opposition leader today at Rustavi’s No. 12 penitentiary facility.
According to Kordzadze, Khazaradze remains in good spirits.
"He’s holding up well, he’s fine. We discussed matters concerning the continuation of the legal struggle we are engaged in. His mood and spirit remain unchanged. Nothing has changed — he is exercising and he is doing well," the lawyer stated.
For context, the leaders of Lelo – For Strong Georgia, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, were found guilty on June 23 for failing to comply with a summons from the parliamentary temporary investigative commission. Judge Zviad Sharadze sentenced both to 8 months of imprisonment and barred them from holding public office for 2 years.
