Tina Bokuchava: I do not intend to appear before the illegitimately established 'treason commission'

Unity – United National Movement chair Tina Bokuchava has stated that she does not intend to attend the parliamentary investigative commission session.

“I do not intend to appear before the illegitimately established ‘treason commission’!” – said Tina Bokuchava.

For context, at today's session of the Parliament’s Temporary Investigative Commission, MP Givi Mikanadze and Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili were questioned. They provided the commission with information about visits made by opposition politicians to European institutions, during which, according to them, the opposition lobbied for actions against the Georgian Dream government and the country as a whole.

As Givi Mikanadze stated during the session, several politicians, including Tina Bokuchava, were meeting political groups and individual politicians in the corridors of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, raising the issue that Georgia’s delegation should not be granted credentials. Additionally, Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili noted that Tina Bokuchava was one of the opposition politicians who spoke about suspending Georgia’s visa-free travel with the European Union.
