Prosecutor's Office: A patrol police officer has been arrested for wounding a man in Ruispiri - he committed the crime while performing non-official duties, using a personal weapon, during which he was not sober

An employee of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, B.G., has been arrested on the charge of attempted murder in connection with the incident of wounding a man in the village of Ruispiri, Telavi district, - the Prosecutor's Office reports.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, an investigation has been launched into the criminal case by the Special Investigation Service under Article 19-108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (attempted murder).

According to the agency, at this stage, the investigation has established that the patrol inspector committed the crime while performing his non-official duties with a firearm in his personal possession, during which he was not sober.

"The detainee will be charged within the time limit established by law.

The investigation into the case is ongoing, the results of which will be additionally informed to the public," reads the information.
