The non-governmental sector is announcing a protest on June 29 at 8:00 PM. They are calling on citizens to come out to Rustaveli Avenue and protest the situation in the country.
“Georgia’s enemy is trying to turn a free country into one big prison. Political leaders of pro-Western parties, journalists, activists, doctors, actors, poets, teachers are already in prison. The government’s repressions are already affecting all of us. If this continues, we will also be in prison: some as prisoners, some as guards, but all of us in prison.
Today, silence is obedience, but Georgia cannot obey. Our voice means that people in Georgia believe in freedom.
On Sunday, June 29, at 8:00 PM, come to Rustaveli Avenue, carry a poster, come with your family and friends. Stand with your people! Stand for Georgia!” reads the statement ofsome non-governmental organizations.
